Counseling Services

Clients are seen at PCFCC as individuals, couples or families  for direct counseling.  Unlike other larger public counseling centers, Porter County Family Counseling Center’s intake procedure is very streamlined.  Each intake session generally lasts 50 (fifty) to 90 (ninety) minutes and if treatment is continued beyond this point, clients may be seen on a weekly or semi-weekly basis depending on their needs.  Each client comes to the Center with different needs and goals and the intent is to see the client as often as needed to help them move toward improved functioning within their personal situations.  The fee each client will pay is determined during the initial meeting with the therapist.  The lowest sliding scale fee is $10.00 a session.  No one is turned away because of an inability to pay our minimum fee.  Some clients at PCFCC prefer to work in a group system for a determined period of time.  Groups at PCFCC vary in topic and availability.  Please visit our  Courses/Training  tab for more information on the group course material offered.    Groups are offered on a sliding fee scale.  Please call 219.364.2732 for information on which courses are currently available.
